P.E. with Sean

This term we were really lucky to have Sean come and do P.E. with our class every second Friday.  We have been building on our motor skills.  Unfortunately it was our last session with Sean and it was raining so we were in the hall.  We still managed to burn off lots of energy though!

Duffy Theatre

We had the Duffy Theatre come to share with our school a show about reading.  The next week we had a visit from author Maria Gill and we got to take Duffy books home.  What an awesome treat!

Year 4-6 Overnight Camp

This term our Year 4s got to attend the Year 4-6 Overnight Camp.  We had a shared fish and chip tea, played lots of games and got to use our torches at night.  In the morning we did Jump Jam before packing up our tents.  Everyone was pretty tired the next day.

Jump Jam

Netherby School was lucky enough to have Brent Fairweather come and do some of his Jump Jam routines with us.  He showed us routines that we had not tried before.  We were puffing!  Some of us even got to join Brent on stage.

Ashburton District Council - Animal Control

We had Andrea from the Ashburton District Council come and talk to the Senior Syndicate about how to keep safe around dogs.  We learnt lots of new things like what to do when walking past dogs that bark and what to do if we come across dogs that we do not know.

Hockey Skills

Tania from Mid Canterbury Hockey has been coming in to teach us hockey skills.  Some of us have played before and for some of us, it was new learning.

Community Invite

Thank you to the awesome parents who were able to attend.  We got Seesaw organised so you can see our work at home and we showed you other ICT programmes that we use at school such as e-Ako and Studyladder.

Digital Curriculum

Our class was really lucky to have 3 sessions about how to use Scratch Jr. with Tamati.  It was a lot of fun getting to experiment with technology.  We even got to see pictures come alive!
