Cluster Cross Country

This term we have been training hard for the Cluster Cross Country with Chertsey, Fairton and Tinwald School.  We did Jump Jam for our warm up, did our run, had some kai and got to play in the Chertsey School playground.  It was great to see so many of us achieving our goals!

The Recycling Centre

This term our topic is Bargain Hunters.  As part of this topic we went to the Ashburton Recycling Centre and dump to learn about what happens to our recycling and rubbish.  We saw where the paper, cardboard, plastic, glass and rubbish goes.  We even got to weigh ourselves on the weigh bridge.

Elgregoe Visit

Elgregoe came to our school to show us some magic!  He also had a anti-bullying message for us.  We loved seeing his birds and his show.

Kia Kaha

Our health topic for Term 2 is Kia Kaha.  This is an anti-bullying programme put out by the NZ Police.  We have had Fran the police education office come into our class to talk about bullying and cyber-bullying.  We have had some really good discussions about what to do if bullying happens to us.  We all need to look out for each other.

St Johns Visit

In Term 2 we had a St Johns visit.  Shayne talked to our class about the importance of knowing our phone number and our address.  If we ever need to talk to a 111 operator, we need to remember when giving our address to also give the town or city that we live in.  We talked about what to do if we get a bee sting or if we see poison.

End of Term Mufti Day

It was the last day of term and it was a PJ/Gumboot mufti day.  Don't we look good!
